I’m Amanda and I love to travel- specifically anything outdoors. I recently graduated from school at University of North Florida. At home, I enjoy going to the beach and practicing yoga. The mountains of North Carolina were just a few hours drive from me during the school year, which is where I found myself playing on long weekends. I have been fortunate to study abroad in Peru, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Belize during my time at UNF. In the summer months, you can probably find me in one of our beautiful National Parks.
My last big adventure took place in a 1976 VW Westfalia across America to visit our National Parks. This 6-week road trip entrenched my love for the natural world around us. Since then, I have traveled domestically and internationally to explore our planet and learn from people who are different than me.
From September 2018 to September 2019, I will be living in Bangkok and Lampang, Thailand as an English Teaching Assistant with the US Student Fulbright Program. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to use my passion for teaching in another country. I am eager to get started on this journey and share my mistakes, challenges, and joys of living abroad. I hope this blog can serve as a connection to cultures, places, and people on the other side of the world. I am excited to take a big leap outside of my comfort zone and use this experience to better myself as a teacher and a global citizen.
Enjoy the adventures 🙂
